The Northampton Street Basketball League is in full swing. With a few weeks already completed, the League is extremely competitive. In the 8-9-10 Year Old Division, Coby Kornfeld has led the Blue Devils to a 1-3 record and Jordan Diggs has captained the Tarheels to a similar record. The lone undefeated team are Coach Shovlin's Jayhawks with a 4-0 record.

The 11-12-13 Year Old Division has once again showed continuous growth and is competitive week by week. Every Sunday games have been neck and neck and with every team with at least two wins an addition of a fourth team should make things very interesting. There is one more week before the Christmas break and the excitement each week continues to build.

     Hope everyone is enjoying the new school year so far. I just wanted to pass along some updated information to all of you regarding the 2012-2013 Northampton Basketball League. After our first preseason meeting there have been a few tweaks to the information I last passed along to you. First things first, the schedule has been changed. The schedule is as follows:
 
Week 1 for games and session one of skills clinic - Sunday, November 4th 2012
Week 2 – Sunday, November 11th
Week 3 – Sunday, November 18th
Week 4 – Sunday, December 2nd
Week 5 – Sunday, December 9th
Week 6 – Sunday, December 16th (last week for session one of skills clinic)
Week 7 – Sunday, January 6th
Week 8 – Sunday, January 13th
Week 9 – Sunday, January 20th
Week 10 – Sunday, January 27th (last week of regular season)
Week 11 – Sunday, February 3rd
Week 12 – Sunday, February 10th (last week of session two of skills clinic)
PLAYOFFS ARE STILL TBA
 
Also, some of the new rule changes and ideas that was passed along in the previous emails have either been adopted by the league or changed slightly. The ones that effect you directly are as follows:
1. Team registrations remain, but a maximum of six (6) players are allowed. The remainder of the roster spots will be filled by the League Commissioner.
2. There are now two (2) six-week skills clinics for children ages 5, 6, and 7. On the attached flyer, you will find spots to notify the League what session you decide on enrolling your child for.
3.There will be a weekly admission of $1.00 for all adults ages 18 and over. Children, players, and coaches are all admitted free of charge.
4. Those who are interested in coaching this year, please contact me through email or telephone immediately! We will be having a meeting for all those interested in coaching on October 14th at 12:00 PM at the JCC. We will be discussing rosters, league rules, and other important information.
5. The jerseys will now have our league logo on the front of each side of the jersey this year.
 
If anyone knows anybody who is interested in coaching, playing or sponsoring in the Northampton League please have them contact me as soon as possible. I am excited for the league to begin this year and I hope you all are as well.
