Summer Day Camps at the JCC began in 1931. JCC Day camp is located at the JCC Holiday House Facility, One mile from Harveys Lake. Holiday House is a gated 40 acre property with 24 hour security. A diverse and qualified staff from around the United States participates in a five-day orientation program prior to the start of camp, they provide a 5-1 camper to staff ratio, and they facilitate guided discovery. All directors are over 21 yrs of age. We also employ a full – time Registered Nurse (R.N.) who is on site during camp hours to handle all medical issues. All camps include transportation to and from camp, lunch, and snacks. Before and after camp care is available at both camps and the JCC in Wilkes-Barre.

Attention Camp Parents

As we continue to plan for the 2010 camp season, we need your help and participation. Last year the parental support was overwhelming, and we are hoping for the same this year. We are looking for your help in two specific areas:

  1. Sponsors for each week’s Oneg Shabbat: A special Welcoming of the Shabbat Program each Friday for Little Menschen, K’Ton Ton, Nagila,  Mitzvah & Noar. The cost of sponsoring an Oneg is $18.00. We will thank each sponsor at the Oneg and your children or grandchildren will say the prayers that week. Sponsors are invited to camp on their Oneg. We will call you with the date.
  2. Special Events Programming: We are always looking for sponsors for our special camp events, such as our once-a-season Rita’s Ices, fruit for all campers and staff, Treat Day, gift and prize bags for camp contests, our Talent Show, and sponsors for K’Ton Ton, Nagila,  & Mitzvah shows, to name a few. Sponsorships are $25.00 or more.

Call Barbara Sugarman for more information at 824-4646.
